Biography:. After practicing for 15 years of successfully practicing law in Missoula, Montana, my wife (an Idaho native) convinced me to move to Boise to be closer to her family.  In 2013, I passed the Idaho bar and started my own practice.  Being your own boss is great, however, I wanted to work with skilled attorneys who complement each other’s skills and shared my desire to help clients in finding the best solution to his/her problem.  “Best” is usually the least emotionally and financially taxing solution that provides my clients with the majority of what they should receive.  With Nikki and Deena, I’ve found two attorneys who work great individually and as a team, enjoy helping people and are fun to work with.. Philosophy:. My philosophy in practicing law is to find the best solution to my client’s problem.  While an attorney has to always prepare like the case will be tried, rarely is a trial the best solution due to the expense, mental and physical toll taken on a client.  As there are always 2 sides to a story, the best result usually involves a reasonable compromise.  My skills, training, and experience allow me to assess a case, determine the sticking point (settlement range) and convince the opposing party, counsel or insurer to find common ground to work toward a reasonable solution for both sides.. I love paying my clients instead of vice versa.  My best work days involve seeing my clients' faces when I deliver their settlement checks.  Those moments are what make all time spent on client meetings, document review, negotiations, legal document drafting, and in court worthwile.. Scott received a  Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah in 1989 and a Juris Doctor degree from Willamette University in 1993. He was admitted to the Oregon Bar in 1993 and the Idaho Bar in 1997.. Scott believes that an injury attorney who never or rarely fights for his client in court, even if the case has challenges, is not being a proper advocate. Scott takes on challenging cases but has still been prevailing at a rate of approximately 80% over his last twenty jury trials.  Scott believes that most injury cases can and should settle and because he has succeeded in court on prior cases, and properly prepares his cases, his current and future cases should recieve full and fair offers.. Scott did not plan on not being an injury lawyer but while in law school his wife and children were injured in an auto accident.  After getting the runaround by a major insurance company (his own company) he quickly learned that good honest people need help in dealing with insurance companies.  After one year of serving as a Judicial Law Clerk in Salem Oregon his career has and will remain committed to holding insurance companies to the promises they have made.. Scott and his wife Chris have two children. Both children recently graduated from college, so he is officially old.  He also enjoys almost any athletic event and still participates even though his body has been telling him it is time to quit.
