TL;DR want to know if I can apply for help from a family attorney to reply to letter from attorney of mother of child. Previously applied in July 2025 and was told they couldn’t help me. Want to know if I can try again. ___________________________________________ In January 2025, I had left the state of IL after me and an EX/mother of my child (6 months pregnant at the time) had broken up the month before, were living with her family in Coles County, IL, after they offered to help us when we weren’t in a very stable situation in AZ. (TL;DR was convinced by EX’s family leaving my 2 jobs in AZ and starting over in IL was the noble thing to for our family, despite me stating that I’m giving up my stability and EX not being fully transparent that she was losing interest in the relationship, especially after 12 years of on/off drama) I had to return to AZ when EX’s sister kicked me out after she had gotten fed up with our drama and arguing, and having more loyalty to her sister; (who can blame a loving sister, honestly) I thought moving back to AZ with MY family and friends to start over and probably figure out a cross-state parenting schedule would be the best option, but I’d only later regret this decision after my job hunt took WAY longer than it should’ve (finally found work in April 2026), missing my son’s birth and first birthday (born…

TL;DR Have to move from AZ to Coles County IL to make coparenting situation between mother of my child and I easier, but I have to establish myself in IL first and have a home/job to support my child on my time. I’m currently in the process of filing for paternity so I can be part of my toddler son’s life (wasn’t at the birth, so my name’s not on the BC) but want to make the parenting schedule with BM (baby’s mother) and our attorneys, later, as I can’t bring my child home until I’m settled in IL; I have no friends or connections in IL, so I’d have to check out the housing resources for a place to be so I’m not out in the street when I arrive, and also a transfer with my current job (I work at Home Depot), all until I’m established in IL and have a home to bring my son to when it’s my time with him. Back in December 2024, The mother of my child and I moved from AZ to IL (Mattoon) with her family a few months after she found out she was pregnant.
