Mr. Burgos is a native of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, but has lived most of his life in the United States. He graduated from Bonnabel High School and received his B.A.S. degree from Loyola University. While in law school, Mr. Burgos was selected by the faculty to serve as a teaching assistant -concentrating time with law students that were experiencing academic difficulty. Mr. Burgos received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University School of Law in civil and common law. Mr. Burgos has been appointed by the City of New Orleans as an Honorary Ambassador to Honduras. Mr. Burgos was appointed by the Mayor of New Orleans to serve on the Mayor’s 17-members “Bring New Orleans Back Commission” in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The Commission was given a mandate to develop a master plan by the end of 2005 that will serve as the blue print for rebuilding New Orleans. Mr. Burgos was appointed by the Mayor and Commission members at the Chair of the Cultural Sector within the Commission.
