Location: Michigan The company I work has asked me to sign the following contract, and I don't feel comfortable with it. For context, I work in an accounting department at a medium sized construction company. We are leaning into AI and I am being asked to try to create/manage some tools that the company will use. I don't have issue with much, but as laymen, it feels very broad and overreaching, especially the part in section 1 "This assignment applies regardless of the device, location, software, account, AI tool, repository, or platform used to create the Work Product, including personal hardware, personal cloud accounts, personal code repositories, or personal AI accounts, to the extent permitted by law." Not exactly sure what I am looking for here, but I don't feel comfortable signing. I have raised concerns with my boss, and she said she has similar concerns as she was being asked to sign as well. I guess my question is am I overreacting or is this standard? For context, I build some basic internal tools in excel/powerBI, but going forward they want these to be built with AI tools. I am not in a executive or even management role. Location: Michigan So I was a purchase service employee at a company earlier this year when the company I was contracted to offered me a full time direct hire position. I sent a message to my boss at the contract company in mid-April stating that I had received a job offer from another company and would be pursuing it and my LWD would be 5/8. I also asked if there was anything else I needed to do to formalize this. I never got a response. On 5/8 I gave my boss at the company I was contracted to my laptop and on the following Monday I started as a direct hire. Then mid-May, I got another paycheck for my normal pay from the contract company. I didn't think anything of it since I was expecting about 2 weeks of pay for my final paycheck. Then at the beginning of June, I received another check for my standard pay. I reached out to my old boss and he told me I needed to log on to their system and submit a resignation there. I tried to do that but couldn't backdate it to 5/8, so I was told to just put it as that day (6/3). I did that and they withdrew one paycheck from my bank account. Then a couple days later I got another paycheck and a deposit for around 5k. I reached back out and they told me that was the money they withdrew prior and my last…
