Location: Michigan To keep it brief, I got a lease of a 2026 Jeep Compass. After the first week my trunk/tailgate started making this weird wobbling/creaking noise. I took it back to the dealership and they “fixed” it. However a month ago the noise started again. Before I could call them and get my vehicle looked at, a message came on my dashboard stating to “service transmission” and my Jeep starting slightly jolting back and forth at times when I’d accelerate. I took my vehicle back into the dealership and they told me it’s an issue with the power train and some module that is connected to the transmission/oil. The part they needed took 3 weeks to get delivered to the dealership. So the vehicle was in the shop that whole time. I got my vehicle back and I’m still noticing the jolting and the noise with my trunk. I took it back again and they told me “unable to duplicate concerns”. At this point I give up. So after all of that, I have been in contact with a Jeep Case Manager and he stated they are going to offer me $2,500 for the inconvenience. What do you all think of this? It’s a lease so honestly I don’t really see the downside of this. But any advice would help!

Moved in March 2026. The very first day, there were roaches in the refrigerator. I took pictures and documented everything. I sent an email to the landlord. They have had an exterminator come out twice a month, but there are still roaches. They crawl over my desk, on my kitchenware, everything! I sent videos to the landlord and documented in an email that I have a documented allergy to roaches. Is this enough to break my lease and get my deposit back? Location: Michigan When I moved in with my mom, she reluctantly said that she would not allow me to use marijuana of any variety in her household. I agreed as I had no other place to go. She very hesitantly let me keep my marijuana pen as I she admitted she couldn't control what I do outside of the house. Sadly, after about four months I began using the pen inside her house. She realized it over time as she apparently could smell it. Now, after her discovery, she's begun drug testing me periodically. However, she also made me sign a "Family Living Agreement" that includes $400 rent each month, obtaining 35+ hours of employment each week, any possession of THC, nicotine or alcohol products. She also wants me to obtain drug counseling, as she believes I have a problem (despite being 30+ days sober at the time of writing.) I guess I just want to obtain clarification about if she can limit THC, alcohol and nicotine usage outside the premises.

Location: Dearborn, MI (USA) So today my boyfriend reached out to our landlord about a small leak coming from the garbage disposal in our kitchen (we had a bucket under it so it wasn't making a mess) and our air conditioner stopped working yesterday. My boyfriend took the rest of the week off so a maintenance guy could come in, and had reached out to our landlord before going to work about scheduling the repairs. A few hours later (my boyfriend and I are at work) the maintenance person enters our apartment without us knowing they were coming. Luckily we have cameras installed, or we wouldn't have known they entered at all. My boyfriend and I are private people, and we have a skittish cat, so we like to plan to be there when there is work done. Plus we have had issues with the landlord having maintenance come in unannounced before (which is why me have the cameras), to the point we asked them never to enter without us knowing. My landlord is saying they don't do appointments for repairs, which is untrue because we have done this with them before, but my question is what can I do to prevent this? Is there anything legally that says they can't enter my apartment without an emergency or notice? Also, this is my first post here so sorry if I'm missing anything important, I will try to answer any questions in the comments if there are any. Thanks for reading…

Location: Michigan, USA Hello all! Last year I took over my brother's girlfriend's lease. (I needed a place to stay because I got accepted into Optometry school last minute and she wanted to move in with my brother). Anyways, I signed that lease and it looked good. I didn't get a copy of the lease, nor did I ask for one at the time because I had assumed that there would be a copy of it on the app they used (similar to an old apartment that I had)... there was not. Fast forward a couple months, I noticed that I couldn't see the lease. I asked for a copy because I didn't have one. My landlord replied saying that they would email me a copy and they didn't. Fast forward some more time, I asked again, and received no response to that text. I didn't push it, but I know I should have. While I do not have a copy of my lease, I do have a copy of the lease that I took over. Now onto my situation. I turned my keys in on June 15th with my lease officially ending June 30th. I received a letter on Jul 20th from their office. In the envelope, there was a check for $550 and a piece of paper that had a column from a spreadsheet showing that I had owed a cleaning fee of $150 that was being taken out of my deposit and that I was being left…
