I was born on September 20, 1972 inChicago, Illinois and moved to Las Vegas with my family at the age of 11. Aftergraduation from Bonanza High School, I immediately enlisted with the NevadaArmy and completed a tour of duty in the Middle East during Operation DesertShield and Desert Storm as a Military Police Officer. During my service, Iprimarily guarded and escorted enemy prisoners of war, for which I received anumber of commendations and medals including the Southwest Asia Service Medalwith two Bronze Service Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, theSouthwest Asia Campaign Medal, the Kuwait Liberation Award, the Nevada StateCommendation Medal, and the Governor's Outstanding Unit Award.. Following my military service, Ireceived two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communications Studies - Rhetorical Theoryand Criminal Justice in 2000 from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas. I nextattended the Boyd School of Law and received my Juris Doctorate degree in 2003..
