Michael grew up in San Antonio, Texas. Michael was awarded his Bachelor’s Degree from Trinity University with an emphasis in teaching political science. Robert C. Gutierrez  was born and raised in New Mexico. After high school he worked as a police aide for the Albuquerque Police Department and as a corrections officer for the City of Albuquerque.  He graduated cum laude form the University of Albuquerque in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology..
