Upon graduation from law school Kevin took a position as an Assistant Public Defender for Columbia County.  During his two years in the public defender's office Kevin gained valuable experience in all types of family court matters including custody, abuse/neglect and support.  In 2000 Kevin accepted a position with the Albany law firm Roland, Koblenz & Petroccione, LLP where he gained additional civil litigation, real estate and surrogates court experience.  In 2005 Kevin, Emilio Petroccione and Carl Ferrintino formed Colwell, Ferrentino and Petroccione, LLP.  In 2008 Mary Colwell joined the firm.  Today, Kevin and Mary lead a team of over twenty at the Colwell Law Group, LLC helping families successfully navigate child custody and divorce litigation.

Born and raised in New York City, I originally moved to the Capital District at attend Albany Law School.  I am now happy to call this area home, residing with my wife and twin toddlers in Albany.. My legal experience is varied and I am comfortable addressing a range of legal issues. As an intern at the New York State Liquor Authority, I cultivated a broad foundation in administrative law. Working at the Authority, I helped to construct a winning argument in a case before the Third Appellate Department. Upon graduation, I was honored to receive Albany Law’s award for highest academic standing in administrative law. Most recently, I have been workingto pioneer a new area of law – civil litigation designed to help people who have been victimized over the internet. If someone is using the internet to try to hurt you, the law may be just what you need to fight back.. Casey began her legal career as an associate attorney at Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP, Albany's largest law firm, where she practiced primarily in the areas of Labor and Employment, Education and Litigation.  In 2012, Casey decided to join her mother, Anne Reynolds Copps, in practice.  In 2014, Anne and Casey became partners and created Copps DiPaola, PLLC, the first mother-daughter law firm in the Capital Region.. Casey graduated summa cum laude and as the salutatorian from Albany Law School in 2009. Kaitlin Foley is a Managing Attorney at The Colwell Law Group, having joined the firm in August of 2016.
