In a phrase, the mission of DaisleyLaw, PLLC is to provide unique, highly professional and intensely personal service to the field of personal injury and insurance law. The "sweet spot" of my practice is protecting the rights of those individuals and families who have been harmed by the recklessness of drunk and distracting drivers.. That focus is enhanced by operating within the offices of one of the leading DWI defense law firms in the Southeast (PowersMcCartan, PLLC).  Also my 14 years as a Certified Mediator in N.C. Superior Civil Courts, assisted in the successful resolution of more than three hundred civil disputes, compliments my litigation experience with compassionate creativity and enhanced negotiation skills.. Thus, at its very heart, the central task of my law practice is (and has been for more than a quarter century) to resolve disputes. Whether as an advocate or as a mediator my goal is to zealously advance my clients' best interests by bringing innovation, passion and compassion to the conference table as well as to the courtroom.. Michael Wimer

Firm: Asheville Law Group
349 Haywood Road , Asheville , North Carolina 28806
Practice Areas: Litigation
Mike Wimer is a civil trial attorney and the firm’s chief legal strategist. He focuses his practice on complex trial matters with substantial issues of law, damages, and where large numbers of people are adversely affected. During his nearly three decades as a litigator, he has tried jury cases involving bad faith insurance claims, construction disputes, commercial contract cases, partnership disputes, employment law, personal injury, and many other areas of civil practice.. Mike has the stamina, fortitude and passion to stay the course in complex cases where the adversary is often a large corporation and a big law firm with unlimited resources. As proof, one of his class actions recently settled after almost eight years of litigation. It takes a unique law firm and a special breed of lawyer to pursue complex litigation against the nation’s largest corporations, banks, and other well-financed defendants. Mike is a tireless advocate and believes that absolute justice is the ultimate goal for every client, even if that means his firm may sometimes have to wait years to get paid for their legal work.. Mike enjoys supporting lawyers in other firms by co-venturing cases where there is a need for extra resources and special litigation experience. Solo practitioners and lawyers in other small firms have told us they would not have been able to accept some of their cases without being able to bring us on board. It is a great way for our firm to help other lawyers.

Michael Umberger

Firm: Jameson P. Wells, P.A.
910 East Blvd. , Charlotte , North Carolina 28803
Practice Areas: Business
I grew up in Asheville, NC and did my undergrad at UNC-Chapel Hill, earning a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Geography.  Following graduation, I worked with the Carolina Covenant Scholarship program at UNC as an assistant to the director and mentor to the Covenant scholars. In this position, I led a task force to narrow the academic achievement gap between students from low-income families and the student body at large. My research efforts and statistical analyses of the Covenant student population lead to the implementation of a proactive, predictive mentorship approach that engages students before they begin to struggle.. During law school, I spent a summer clerking for a business litigation law firm and an academic year working for the school’s pro bono Community Economic Development Clinic. During the clinics, I assisted numerous socially-minded businesses with their legal issues, including a mobile farmers market that sells locally sourced produce and agricultural products to areas in the Charlotte Mecklenburg region designated as food deserts; a nonprofit that makes the wishes of terminally ill children come true; and a nonprofit corporation which provides job training to returning citizens and connects these individuals to jobs in the green skills industry that pay a living wage. In addition, I spent time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity drafting wills, powers of attorney, and living wills, as well as assisting with construction.. Through my experiences in school and in practice, I have acquired extensive knowledge in the areas of law concerning business, construction, trademarks, immigration, and family law. I've has also handled traffic matters, drafted and executed Wills and Powers of Attorney, conducted residential real estate closings, registered trademarks and copyrights, filed mechanic’s liens and lien waivers, represented clients in small claims court and Superior Court, negotiated various settlement demands, and helped clients obtain their citizenship, to name a few.. I spend my free time scoping out local restaurants and breweries, and watching and playing soccer with my fiancée. I'm a supporter of the Charlotte Independence and Seattle Sounders FC.
