Location: Pennsylvania Hi all, I’m located in Pennsylvania and was wondering about the particulars of my kinda weird utility situation: basically my landlord doesn’t bill me monthly for electric for reasons still unclear to me, rather they bill after every X number of months (formally 6 months) buuut it’s been close to a year and despite numerous attempts to get the electric bill they still haven’t sent one. I’m just afraid of getting slapped with something ginormous that I can’t pay off in one go. What should I do? Do I have any legal protection against how much they can bill me as well as any rights I can leverage to get the bill they owe me according to the lease?

Location: Pennsylvania So, I got a call that the apartment I'm moving into won't be ready for another 3 weeks due to baseboards needing fixed. I have a lease and contract signed and everything stating my move in date to be 8/21 and they're telling me it may take till 9/9. I asked if it was possible for me to just move in, as I don't mind maintenance people working, ya know, better than being homeless. And they said it wasn't possible. I asked if the repairs are even necessary, cause they only said it was baseboards. (They didn't specify if it was baseboard heaters) I already paid and everything, they offered me to move into a different unit (not temporary) and it may be a little more expensive. Or I could move into one of their smaller ones if I wanna keep it less expensive. But I told them that I wanted the one that I signed for in my lease. I may be able to sleep on a friend's couch for the time being, but I'm assuming I should definitely get a tenant lawyer involved, but how realistic is this, and what can a lawyer do for me in this situation? Would it take the lawyer weeks to get anything done? Would they be able to even help? What would help even look like? Im so lost because I'm new to all this, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have recently moved out of an apartment in Philadelphia and received part of my security deposit with an itemized deductions list. I have photos of my arrival to the apartment and my departure showing no excessive wear and tear. They are attempting to deduct charges for a "Turnover Assessment", "Turnover Painting", as well as paint costs and "Turnover Cleaning". They have attached pictures of the stove being rusted, which I have pictures of it being so upon arrival. There was nothing wrong with the paint in the apartment, not even minimal scuffs. I don’t want to go into a bunch of details regarding our relationship and all of the past issues involved, but to briefly summarize it: I’ve been with my boyfriend off and on for about a year and eight months. We separated for a few months after severe abuse of various kinds, but unfortunately I ran into some legal issues and needed a place to live last minute. We decided to get an apartment together and split the lease cost, and he’s the main leaseholder/tenant and I’m just an occupant. I only signed my name once at the end of the lease, so all liability regarding the apartment falls on him. After just a few short days, he has threatened multiple times that if at any point I decide to leave (due to intense emotional abuse/manipulation), that he will sue me for the entire cost of the lease and move back home. He has done this constantly, at all hours of the day. He has also escalated it to suing my parents as well, who have no involvement whatsoever with the housing arrangement. He has also threatened to have the locks changed and/or remove and destroy/dispose of my personal belongings and will claim ownership of whatever I provided. He’s stating that even though I’m not officially liable for the lease, that he can still sue me independently and is claiming it’s possible over the verbal agreement of me living here (nothing is in writing regarding any sort of…

location: Pennsylvania My landlord has been changing the dates on my rent receipts so they don’t match the dates I actually paid. I have texts/payment records showing when the payments were made, but some of the receipts list later or incorrect dates. She then used those incorrect dates to claim I was late and charge me late fees, even though the payment schedule in my lease and my actual payment history don’t support what she’s claiming. I’ve repeatedly asked her to correct the receipts and explain the discrepancies, but she won’t address them or provide corrected documentation. She insists on only explaining in person and not via text which I find suspicious. At this point, my concern is that the inaccurate records are being used to make it look like I have a history of late payments when I don’t. Has anyone dealt with something similar, and what would you recommend I do to protect myself/document this? She has yet to provide me of a receipt for my last payment although it was confirmed she received it through our texts.
