Firm: Katherine Oberembt Law PLLC
Practice Areas: Criminal Defense
After graduating from Yale Law School in 2012, Katherine Oberembt moved to the Bluff City and began a career defending the people of Memphis and Shelby County. For more than a decade, she has represented clients charged with all levels of criminal offenses, with a particular focus on serious felony charges, including First Degree Murder. Time and time again, Katherine has achieved favorable outcomes for her clients, including dismissals, by filing comprehensive and innovative motions, marshalling expert witnesses in her clients’ defense, and artfully negotiating advantageous settlements. But when negotiation fails, Katherine — a skilled trial lawyer with a history of favorable verdicts, including acquittals — isn’t afraid to take your case to trial.. Any encounter with the criminal legal system is disruptive and disconcerting: Katherine prioritizes communicating with her clients and guiding them through the legal process with empathy and compassion. Katherine knows that every single person who encounters the criminal legal system has dreams, hopes, ambitions, and people who depend on them. Whether appointed or retained, she fights to achieve the outcomes her clients desire and deserve.

Firm: The Law Office of Kate Yeager Delk
Practice Areas: Criminal Defense
I am attorney Kate Yeager Delk, and I have been working in Tennessee's justice system for more than 11 years. I represent individuals defending their rights and protecting their futures.Prior to opening my own practice, I prosecuted cases in the 21st Judicial District (Hickman, Lewis, Perry, and Williamson counties) for 10 years. I tried numerous cases over those 10 years and know what it takes to prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt. Also, as a former prosecutor, I negotiated thousands of cases, and I know how the other side thinks. This unique perspective means I can help protect my clients - both today and in the future. My experience means I know how hard it is for defendants to protect themselves and their rights and how important an experienced attorney is.. After graduating from Washington and Lee School of Law, I clerked for the Court of Criminal Appeals under Judge Tommy Woodall. As one of his two Law Clerks, I researched numerous criminal law issues and drafted opinions.
