Joy served for six years on the Tennessee Commission for Continuing Legal Education and Specialization, where she was elected to both the position of Treasurer and Chair of the Commission. Joy also serves on the Content Review Board for the Tennessee Judiciary Museum.. Joy is a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association's Leadership Law Program, and she has also served on the Tennessee Bar Association's Youth Court Advisory Board. In addition, she helped co-organize a Wills for Heroes event in Williamson County.. She was a founding member of Belmont University's American Inn of Courts and is a member of the John Marshall American Inn of Court. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Michigan Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association and Williamson County Bar Association.. Education. Joy attended the University of Tennessee in her hometown of Knoxville. She received her Bachelor of Arts in 1992. She began her law school career at the University of Tennessee but later transferred to Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1994, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.. Personal. Joy is married to John Day and is a mom to Kate Day and bonus mom to Sarah and Michael Day. She is an active volunteer at Scales Elementary. Because she is passionate about cooking, eating and drinking wine, she has also become quite fond of running and hiking.
