Hello to put it simply I am wondering the best option on handling my speeding ticket. Location: (Houston,Texas) I was clocked at 55 in a 30 the situation was simply me not paying attention to the speed limit etc. The officer cut me slack and even did not add some 10% thing on my ticket since it was my first offense. I looked on the court website and i’m not eligible to request a deferred deposition. I have no problem paying a fine or anything but I do not want this ticket on my record or anything. My apartment complex became an absolute wreck after switching management companies. I feel silly for being so late to notice this, but once I got my final bill with a huge fee for failure to give the 60 day move-out notice, I requested and reviewed a copy of my lease. Their system had my move out day as being in July, so all emails and in-person visits confirmed I had to be out by then. However, the lease I signed actually has an August end date! I had forgotten I opted for the 13-month, and foolishly trusted the front office to have correct information. I have never violated the lease, always paid on time, and followed the wild rules they added when they switched companies (even though none of them were in the lease I signed, since the switch happened a few months after I renewed). So far, I’ve requested they remove the failure to notice fee given my lease proves we were within their 60 day requirement. I also requested more specification on what the cleaning/damages fee was for (they hit me with $150+ fee labeled “cleaning/damages” with no further explanation). I have a feeling it might involve water damage that I had already reported to them and never got fully resolved. (As a bonus, we found mold while moving furniture out ). This technically wasn’t an eviction, as they were operating off of what their system told them. I’m assuming it was just entered incorrectly at some point,…
