Gabriel Assaad grew up in Rochester, New York. After graduating from McQuaid Jesuit High School, he attended the University of Florida and graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1996. Afterwards, he worked as a design engineer for a consulting firm in Rochester, NY. Mr. Assaad then decided he wanted to go to law school and moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Vanderbilt University Law School.. After graduating from Vanderbilt Law School in 2001, Mr. Assaad accepted a position with Dickstein Shapiro, LLP, a large Washington, DC law firm. At Dickstein Shapiro, he worked primarily on Patent Litigation and Patent Prosecution. In 2004, Mr. Assaad decided to leave the Big Firm practice and pursued his goals of representing individuals in the justice system. Mr. Assaad joined Paulson & Nace, a nationally recognized personal injury law firm in Washington, D.C. There Mr. Assaad represented clients in personal injury, medical malpractice and product liability cases. While at Paulson and Nace, Mr. Assaad represented hundreds of victims of negligence and was first chair or second chair in over 15 trials.. In 2008, Mr. Assaad opened up his law firm in Washington, DC and continued to represent victims of negligence and medical malpractice.. I am a third generation trial attorney. Both my dad and grandfather were trial attorneys.  I went to Baylor University and was a premedical student.  I graduated with a degree in biology, but since the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, I went to law school.. I have represented people who have been injured in serious trucking and automobile accidents, babies who have been injured as a result of medical errors at birth, and people who have been injured as a result of medical malpractice and other types of serious accidents.. I am an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School teaching Personal Injury Trial Law.  I have given talks across the country to labor and delivery nurses about the types of medical mistakes that I have seen in my birth injury cases to help educate these nurses on steps that they can take to prevent injuries to babies in the future.
