Born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Haroen ("Harun") Calehr is half Indonesian and half Dutch. He started practicing law right after graduating from Texas Southern University, J.D, in 2001, and then followed by graduating from Tulane Law School, LL.M., in 2002 where he received his Master in Law in Admiralty and Maritime Law.
