While at SMU Law, he wrote onto the SMU Law Review, serving on the Journal of Air Law & Commerce (JALC), took First Place at the 2014 ABA Labor & Employment Law Trial Advocacy Competition – Dallas Region, won Best Advocate in the 2015 Howie & Sweeny Moot Court Competition, and served as one of the few students selected as a Garner Law Scholar learning under the renowned Bryan Garner.. Before attending law school at SMU, William was an associate professor of government for Collin College. While working for Collin, he focused on teaching his students critical thinking skills through the Socratic Method as a way to unlock their perception of the world and understand how political systems impact their everyday lives.. Before attending the SMU Dedman School of Law, William attend the University of Texas at Arlington where he graduated magna cum laude with an Honors Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and a Masters of Arts in Political Science..
