Ben Rottenborn brings to Woods Rogers extensive experience representing clients in a variety of complex civil litigation matters involving issues in private equity/venture capital, securities, fiduciary duty, environmental, products liability, and general commercial law.. A member of our Litigation section, Ben has practiced at both the trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts around the country. Before joining the firm in 2012, Ben was a partner at an international law firm in Chicago, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where, among his career highlights, he represented venture capital directors in a breach of fiduciary duty lawsuit brought by former shareholders in a technology start-up company and defended a Fortune 50 company in a suit seeking specific performance of a $15 billion merger contract.. The Waynesboro native graduated with highest distinction from the University of Virginia and earned his law degree at Stanford Law School, where he served as president of the Stanford Law & Policy Review. After graduating, Ben served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable David G. Campbell, United States District Judge for the District of Arizona.
