Official statutory text
The authorization to use the progressive design-build contracting process pursuant to this chapter does not include the authority to perform construction inspection services for projects on, or interfacing with, the state highway system. Construction inspection services for those projects shall be performed by the Department of Transportation pursuant to Part 5 (commencing with Section 14000) of Division 3 of Title 2 of the Government Code, consistent with Section 91.2 of the Streets and Highways Code.
