Sec. 10-150e. Review and recommendations re educator preparation and certification. Report.

(b) The Connecticut Educator Preparation and Certification Board, established pursuant to section 10-150b , shall (1) undertake a comprehensive review of the certification endorsement areas for the purpose of (A) developing standards regarding the adequacy and relevance of such endorsement areas, and (B) considering whether the grade ranges for the endorsement areas should be expanded, (2) explore alternative pathways for educators to receive cross endorsements, and (3) consider whether to transfer authority over candidate admission criteria for alternate route to certification programs to the program providers. Not later than July 1, 2025, the board shall submit a report on its findings, as well as any recommendations for legislation, to the State Board of Education and the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to education, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a .
