44-1-1005 . Motor carriers safety -- enforcement -- violations. (1) The highway patrol has the responsibility to enforce the provisions of Title 61, chapters 5, 8, and 9, as they apply to motor carriers and shall assist the department of transportation in the enforcement of safety standards adopted pursuant to 61-10-154 .
(2) The highway patrol shall cooperate with the department of transportation to ensure minimum duplication and maximum coordination of enforcement of the provisions of Title 61 as they apply to motor carriers.
