Vacancy filled by Governor; term

Official statutory text

When any vacancy occurs in the office of judge of the Court of Appeals, the Governor shall fill the same by granting a commission, which expires at the next general election by the people and upon the qualification of his or her successor, at which election a judge must be chosen for the balance of the unexpired term.
