Department authorized to acquire lands, improvements for airport purposes

43. a. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the Department of Transportation and the commissioner thereof are authorized to acquire lands and improvements for airport purposes, in Egg Harbor, Hamilton and Galloway Townships, county of Atlantic, and to convey the same to the South Jersey Transportation Authority for a nominal or other consideration and under other terms and conditions as the commissioner deems appropriate. b. The department and the commissioner thereof are authorized to expend funds specifically appropriated by P.L.1991, c.185 from the revenues and other funds of the Transportation Trust Fund Authority for the acquisition authorized under subsection a. of this section and also for the planning, engineering, construction, reconstruction, repair and rehabilitation of the transportation project known as the Atlantic City International Airport and related facilities and activities, or a portion thereof, as authorized by section 24 of this act.
