N.M. Stat. § 27-2-15

The state department is hereby designated as the state agency to cooperate with the federal government in the administration of the provisions of Title 1, Title 4, Part 2 and 3 of Title 5, and Title 10 of the federal Social Security Act. 1 The state board is hereby authorized and directed to cooperate with the proper departments of the federal government, and with all other departments of the state and local governments in the enforcement and administration of such provisions of the federal Social Security Act, and any amendments thereto and the rules and regulations issued thereunder, and in compliance therewith in the manner prescribed in this act, or as otherwise provided by law.

The department shall also make reports in such form and containing such information as any agency or instrumentality of the United States, with which it is cooperating, may from time to time require, and shall comply with such provisions as any such agency or instrumentality may from time to time find necessary to assure the correctness and verification of such reports.
