§ 607. Retirement system. Persons who are members of an existing\npension or retirement system, or beneficiaries or prospective\nbeneficiaries thereof, shall continue to have the rights, privileges,\nobligations and status with respect to such system which are now or\nhereafter may be provided by law and the benefits of such system shall\nnot be diminished or impaired by reason of the enactment of this\nchapter.\n
