N.Y. CNT Law § 827

§ 827. Enforcement of environmental conservation law in certain\ncounties. In those counties wherein the state owns a park, forest\npreserve, reforested area, hatchery, nursery, game refuge, or wherein\nthe state has established and controls fire prevention apparatus and\nstructures, public hunting, trapping and fishing grounds, marine\nfisheries, or other lawful objects established and controlled by the\nstate in furtherance of the preservation of the natural resources and\nwild life of the state, the board of supervisors shall have power to\nappropriate not exceeding one thousand dollars in any one year for the\npurpose of aiding the state in the enforcement of the provisions of the\nenvironmental conservation law. Such appropriation shall be expended by\nthe county pursuant to a contract made with the department of\nenvironmental conservation in the manner provided in section two hundred\ntwenty-five of this chapter or paid to the state and expended by the\ndepartment of environmental conservation pursuant to the provisions of\nthe environmental conservation law. The county of Erie may appropriate\nnot exceeding four thousand dollars for this purpose. Nothing herein\nshall be deemed to allow the payment of extra compensation to any\nofficer in the performance of official duties for which a compensation\nis otherwise provided by law. Nothing herein shall be deemed to modify\nor impair the power of a county to enforce the provisions of the\nenvironmental conservation law or its own ordinances, rules and\nregulations upon grounds or structures owned and controlled by the\ncounty.\n
