§ 235. Firearms safety training, and licensing appeals. 1. The\nsuperintendent shall, in conjunction with the commissioner of the\ndivision of criminal justice services, promulgate policies and\nprocedures with regard to standardization of firearms safety training\nrequired under subdivision nineteen of section 400.00 of the penal law,\nwhich shall include the approval of course materials and the\npromulgation of proficiency standards for live fire training.\n 2. The superintendent, in conjunction with the commissioner of the\ndivision of criminal justice services, shall create an appeals board for\nthe purpose of hearing appeals as provided in subdivision four-a of\nsection 400.00 of the penal law and promulgate rules and regulations\ngoverning such appeals.\n
