School-based childhood obesity prevention and physical activity programs

§ 2599-c. School-based childhood obesity prevention and physical\nactivity programs. The commissioner, in cooperation with the\ncommissioners of education and agriculture and markets, and county\nboards of cooperative extension, shall encourage the establishment of\nschool-based childhood obesity prevention and physical activity programs\nthat promote:\n 1. A healthy school environment, including physical and aesthetic\nsurroundings and culture designed to prevent and reduce the incidence\nand prevalence of obesity; and\n 2. Parent/community involvement, including an integrated school,\nparent, and community approach for enhancing the health and well-being\nof students.\n
