§ 300. Acknowledgments and proofs by persons in or with the armed\nforces of the United States. The acknowledgment or proof of a conveyance\nof real property situate in this state, if made by a person enlisted or\ncommissioned in or serving in or with the armed forces of the United\nStates or by a dependent of any such person, wherever located, or by a\nperson attached to or accompanying the armed forces of the United\nStates, whether made within or without the United States, may be made\nbefore any officer in active service of the armed forces of the United\nStates authorized to act as a notary in any component part of the armed\nforces of the United States.\n In addition to the requirements of sections three hundred and three,\nthree hundred and four, and three hundred and six of this chapter, the\ncertificate of an acknowledgment or proof taken under this section shall\nstate (a) the rank and serial number of the officer taking the same, and\nthe command to which he is attached, (b) that the person making such\nacknowledgment or proof was, at the time of making the same, enlisted or\ncommissioned in or serving in or with the armed forces of the United\nStates or the dependent of such a person, or a person attached to or\naccompanying the armed forces of the United States, and (c) the serial\nnumber of the person who makes, or whose dependent makes the\nacknowledgment or proof if such person is enlisted or commissioned in\nthe armed forces of the United States. The place where such\nacknowledgment or proof is taken need not be disclosed.\n No authentication of the officer's certificate of acknowledgment or\nproof shall be required.\n Notwithstanding any of the provisions of this section, the\nacknowledgment or proof of a conveyance of real property situate in this\nstate may also be made as provided in sections two hundred ninety-eight,\ntwo hundred ninety-nine, two hundred ninety-nine-a, three hundred one,\nand three hundred one-a, of this chapter.\n
