§ 12. Classification of members. a. It shall be the duty of the head\nof each department of the state government, and of the chief fiscal\nofficer of each participating employer, at the request of the\ncomptroller, to submit to him a statement showing the name, title,\ncompensation, duties, date of birth and length of government service of\neach member and such other information as the comptroller may require.\nIf any such member be principally engaged upon duties differing from\nthose specified by the appropriate civil service commission for the\ntitle held by him, such head of department, or chief fiscal officer,\nshall certify the reasons therefor and the probable duration of the\nduties being so performed by such member.\n b. Each member shall be subject to all the provisions of this article\nand to all the rules and regulations adopted by the comptroller pursuant\nto this article.\n
