N.Y. VAT Law § 120

§ 120. Intersection. (a) The area embraced within the prolongation or\nconnection of the lateral curb lines, or, if none, then the lateral\nboundary lines of the roadways of two highways which join one another\nat, or approximately at, right angles, or the area within which vehicles\ntraveling upon different highways joining at any other angle may come in\nconflict.\n (b) Where a highway includes two roadways thirty feet or more apart,\nthen every crossing of each roadway of such divided highway by an\nintersecting highway shall be regarded as a separate intersection. In\nthe event such intersecting highway also includes two roadways thirty\nfeet or more apart, then every crossing of two roadways of such highways\nshall be regarded as a separate intersection.\n (c) A circular intersection contains an island, generally circular in\ndesign, located in the center of the intersection where traffic passes\nto the right of the island.\n
