Official statutory text
§ 216 Automotive-medical research division. The commissioner shall\nestablish an automotive-medical research division with such facilities\nand such expert assistants as are necessary to do medical and\nengineering research in the field of motor vehicle safety. The\ncommissioner shall from time to time make reports and recommendations to\nthe governor, and the legislature on the findings and studies of the\nagency. The commissioner shall be empowered to contract with the\ndepartment of health for medical research necessary to carry out the\npurposes of this section, and, subject to the provisions of the state\nfinance law, to take and administer for the state any grant, gift or\nbequest to be applied, principal or income, or both, for the purposes\nspecified in such grant, to the maintenance and operation of a research\nprogram under this section.\n
