§ 309-a. Establishment of experimental motor vehicle inspection\nstations. The commissioner of motor vehicles is hereby directed to\nestablish, maintain and/or conduct experimental motor vehicle inspection\nstations, by contract or pursuant to an appropriation made therefor, for\nthe purpose of making the inspection prescribed by article five of the\nvehicle and traffic law and for the purpose of issuing certificates of\ninspection.\n
