Each part-time exempt employee shall participate in the program by not receiving holiday pay during both fiscal year 2010 and fiscal year 2011. Each employee of the secretary of state, auditor of state, treasurer of state, and attorney general shall participate in the program unless the secretary of state, auditor of state, treasurer of state, or attorney general decides to exempt the officer's employees from the program and so notifies the director of administrative services in writing on or before July 1, 2009. After July 1, 2009, the secretary of state, auditor of state, treasurer of state, or attorney general may decide to begin participation in the program for eighty hours or less and shall notify the director of administrative services in writing.
