July 1, 1997 House Bill 438 - 121st General Assembly Each judge of the court of common pleas and each judge of the probate court shall receive an annual compensation equal to eighteen cents per capita for the population of the county in which the judge resided when elected or appointed, as ascertained by the latest federal census of the United States. The annual compensation shall not be less than three thousand five hundred dollars nor more than fourteen thousand dollars and, except for any judge who, prior to the first day of January of any year, delivers a written request to be paid biweekly to both the auditor of the county in which the judge's court is located and the administrative director of the supreme court, shall be paid monthly from the treasury of the county upon the warrant of the county auditor. If a judge, prior to the first day of January of any year, delivers a written request to be paid biweekly to both the auditor of the county in which the judge's court is located and the administrative director of the supreme court, the compensation, during the year immediately following the year in which the request is delivered to both the auditor of the county and the administrative director of the supreme court, shall be paid to that judge biweekly from the treasury of the county upon the warrant of the county auditor. As used in this section, "compensation" does not include any portion of the cost, premium, or charge for health, medical, hospital, dental, or surgical benefits, or any combination thereof, covering a judge of the court of common pleas or a judge of the probate court and paid on the judge's behalf by a governmental entity.
