Exemptions

Official statutory text

The Department shall exempt any vehicle in which hazardous

material is transported or any person who transports any hazardous

material if such exemption is identical to an exemption issued by

the Secretary of the United States Department of Transportation and

may exempt any person who transports any hazardous material

intrastate under similar provisions. The Department may seek

exemptions pursuant to federal law for transportation of those

quantities of hazardous materials which do not pose a substantial

danger to the public health and safety.
