Repair and replacement of employee's personal property

Official statutory text

A. The Department of Corrections is authorized to repair or

replace an employee's personal property if said personal property is

damaged, destroyed or stolen by an offender while the employee is

engaged in the performance of his duties. Any personal property

repaired or replaced shall be comparable in kind, quality and cost.

Reimbursement shall not duplicate insurance coverage carried by the

employee in his individual capacity.

B. Provisions contained in subsection A of this section shall

be applied to all claims filed after July 1, 1985.
