§ 5-73-1. Definitions.

Official statutory text

As used in this chapter, the following terms have the following meanings:

(1) €œBoard€ means the contractors€™ registration and licensing board as defined in § 5-65-1.

(2) €œNonresidential structure€ means and includes any and all commercial or industrial structures or buildings, and shall not include any residential structures consisting of four (4) dwelling units or less.

(3) €œRoofing€ means and includes any and all construction, renovation, or other work performed on or about the roof, as the term is commonly used, of any nonresidential structure or similar building and shall specifically include sealing, water proofing, weatherproofing, related sheet-metal work, and similar work.

(4) €œRoofing contractor€ means any person or entity engaged in the state of Rhode Island in the business of commercial or industrial roofing, or any combination of these.

(5) €œShingles€ mean wood or other materials, excluding slate, used in courses to cover roofs.
