§ 13.002. ENFORCEMENT OF CHAPTER.

(a) The department shall enforce the provisions of this chapter and shall supervise all weighing or measuring devices sold or offered for sale in this state. The department may purchase apparatus as necessary for the administration of this chapter.

(b) The department shall, to the extent practical and cost effective, allow another state agency by interagency contract to execute the department's responsibilities under Subsection (a). The contract may cover the whole state or only a specified region.
