§ 204.104. RURAL PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT LOAN REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM.

Official statutory text

(a) A program shall be established to provide student loan reimbursement for graduates of physician assistant training programs from any state who practice in rural health professional shortage areas and medically underserved areas identified by the Texas Department of Health. The physician assistant board shall fund the program by designating annually a portion of the revenue generated under this chapter from physician assistant licensing fees.

(b) The Texas Department of Rural Affairs shall establish policies for and adopt rules to administer the loan program.

(c) The physician assistant board shall authorize and the medical board shall transfer annually the funds designated under Subsection (a) to the Texas Department of Rural Affairs to administer the loan program.
