My wife Claudia and I are pet lovers. We like to donate our time and/or fund-raising efforts to Animal Aid, Inc., a not-for-profit no-kill shelter that takes in emergency, abuse, and neglect cases as well as dogs and cats from various high-kill animal control facilities. If you are looking for a pet or if you would like to contribute or volunteer, visit . Someone's life depends on it.. As for my lawyering practice, I am a plaintiffs' Personal Injury and Wrongful Death lawyer. That means that we represent injury victims and the survivors of persons who died because of their injuries.. Negligence is no "accident". Maybe it's a driver who chooses to text or maybe it's a store that chooses not to provide adequate lighting in the parking lot or other security measures... negligence defendants are often just regular people whose acts or omissions violate public safety rules and put everyone in the community at risk. Sure, the actual collision with this particular person was an "accident", but when the driver chose to be negligent, he/she put every other motorist on the road at risk. This time, it happened to catch up with this one victim. It could have been me or you. Unless we as lawyers, jurors, parents, etc. hold each other accountable, then it sends the message to others that it is okay to be negligent because there are no consequences. But a fair settlement or verdict actually makes the community safer because it lets that defendant and his/her family and friends know that it is not okay to fail to follow the public safety rules.. I am based in the Fort Lauderdale area, but I represent people all over the country who were injured in Florida. I have been a member of many organizations over the years, including Mensa, Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, Florida Justice Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, Palm Beach County Justice Association, Broward County Justice Association, ABA, Broward County Bar Association, and I am admitted to practice in all Florida state courts plus the US District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
