Prior to joining Motley Rice as an attorney in 1994, Brian practiced real estate, property owners, probate, and construction defect law with his uncle at what is now the Qualey Law Firm in Hilton Head, SC. Brian earned his B.A. from the Catholic University of America, his J.D. from University of South Carolina Law School, and served on the legislative staff of U.S. Senator Ernest "Fritz" Hollings. He participates in the Lawyer Mentoring Program of the Supreme Court of South Carolina Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization. Brian is also an active member of the Charleston County Attorney Fee Dispute Resolution Board.
