After graduating from law school and working for a law firm concentrating in oil and gas law in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, she returned to her home town in 1994. She got her start as a consumer bankruptcy attorney in 1994 when the sole practitioner she went to work for in Gadsden turned over all his current bankruptcy cases to her in order to concentrate on his personal injury practice.. Carla can still remember her first Chapter 13 petition which took her one month to prepare for filing and was completely handwritten by her. Before opening Bond, Botes & Handy, P.C., Carla took a position with her mentor, Charlie Martin, where she learned the art of becoming a compassionate but zealous consumer bankruptcy attorney. She opened the Gadsden office of Bond, Botes & Handy, P.C. in December 2011. This was followed by another office in Anniston, Alabama, in March 2018. Carla has years of experience representing clients in consumer Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases but also in bankruptcy cases filed under Chapter 12 for family farmers..
