She got her start as a consumer bankruptcy attorney in 1994 when the sole practitioner she went to work for in Gadsden turned over all his current bankruptcy cases to her in order to concentrate on his personal injury practice.. Carla can still remember her first Chapter 13 petition which took her one month to prepare for filing and was completely handwritten by her. Before opening Bond, Botes & Handy, P.C., Carla took a position with her mentor, Charlie Martin, where she learned the art of becoming a compassionate but zealous consumer bankruptcy attorney. She opened the Gadsden office of Bond, Botes & Handy, P.C. in December 2011. This was followed by another office in Anniston, Alabama, in March 2018.
