Rebekah A. James serves as an Attorney with Meriwether & Tharp, LLC. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of West Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Thereafter, she earned her Juris Doctorate at the University of Georgia School of Law.. Throughout her undergraduate career, Rebekah maintained the HOPE Scholarship, was a member of both the University of West Georgia Honors College and the Kappa Tau Chapter of Sigma Kappa sorority, and volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).. While in law school, Rebekah worked as a Student Practitioner at the Wilbanks Child Endangerment & Sexual Exploitation (CEASE) Clinic for two semesters and one semester at the Family Violence Clinic. While she was completing her final year of law school, Rebekah served as Vice President of Programming for the Family Law Society and Publicity Officer for the Women Law Students Association.. Since she was raised as a child of divorced parents, Rebekah understands firsthand the challenges associated with divorce. Rebekah's interest in the legal field was inspired by a Guardian ad Litem who represented her as a child. After completing law school, she entered the field of family law focusing on child welfare and child custody..
