Ted attended Yale University and worked in New York City before returning home to South Carolina to pursue his J.D. . While at law school, Ted was chosen to be President of the South Carolina Association for Justice group. He also won first place in a trial advocacy competition, against more than 50 other competitors, and he won distinction for Best Opening Statement, as well as Trial Advocacy Champion..
