River Bridge Resolutions, LLC ("River Bridge") is the brainchild of Andrew Marchant-Shapiro. Andrew first learned about dispute resolution through the Fellowship of Reconciliation at the University of Minnesota, where he received a BA with highest honors. He went on to earn an MA in sociology at the University of Chicago while working as a research assistant and consultant to the American Bar Foundation. He has taught professional writing, quantitative and qualitative methods of sociology, worked as a software engineer, and earned a JD from the Quinnipiac University School of Law, where he studied elder law, worked in Quinnipiac's Civil Clinic and assisted pro se parties in court filings in New Haven. He performs pro bono work at Hamden's Community Mediation, Inc. He is a licensed attorney in the State of Connecticut.Andrew feels that mediation is a calling, and River Bridge Resolutions, LLC, represents his attempt to make the benefits of mediation available to the general public. He is a member of the Connecticut and New Haven Bar Associations, the New England chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, and a founding board member and treasurer of the Connecticut Mediation Association.Andrew lives in the New Haven area with his spouse of more than twenty-five years and their youngest child; In his spare time he reads, writes, plays guitar, rides his bike, and launches an occasional rocket.
