Kasey earned her law degree Order of St. Ives from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she received numerous awards and scholarships. She also holds a master’s degree, summa cum laude, in higher education from the University of Mississippi.. Kasey is an active member of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and has demonstrated her commitment to the community through pro bono work for the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN), and as a volunteer for Denver Legal Nights, the Legal Services Committee, and the Colorado Civil Justice League.
