I practice family law because it is both rewarding and personal to me. Family law isn't like many other fields of law because it requires genuine compassion and empathy. My clients come to me during their toughest times. They are often confused and intimidated by the legal system. As an attorney having overcome my own family struggles, I understand this stress and the need for a compassionate, savvy lawyer to help them make informed, thoughtful decisions about their futures.. Family law is also an interesting field of law intellectually. I love keeping current with the latest cases in my field. I also enjoy legal writing and appellate work in this area.. And while I am always up for litigating a good family law case before the court, I understand that family law cases are often cost prohibitive to many Coloradans. This is why I am very mediation and settlement-focused. I also offer sliding scale services and am a big advocate of unbundled services. To me, it's extremely important that a client have at least some input from counsel, even if they can't afford full representation.. When I'm not being so lawyerly, I love creating art, traveling, and writing short stories!
