He also is an experienced appellate lawyer, having successfully argued cases in both state and federal court. Mr. Woods was a featured speaker at the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers first annual Construction Defect Academy where he spoke about trial tactics concerning expert depositions, cross-examination and related motion practice..Mr. Woods received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History/American literature from Miami University, Ohio in 1995. In 1998, he received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver where he also was a member of the Law Review. Mr. Woods is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel; Oregon and Washington State Bars; the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association; the King County Bar Association (where he is a member of the ADR Committee); the American Bar Association; Multnomah Bar Association; and the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers (where he is a member of the Judicial Liaison Committee). Mr. Woods’ personal interests include backpacking, sailing and sea kayaking. He has pursued these interests in Mexico, Africa, Canada, Europe, South America and throughout the United States. His travels have been featured in the New York Times and Washington Law & Politics magazine. Mr. Woods has also volunteered his time with such organizations as the YMCA and Habitat for Humanity.
