Mr. Esworthy has also defended individuals targeted for criminal prosecution by federal and state authorities involving a wide variety of criminal charges:. Before entering private practice, Mr. Esworthy served as Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Joseph F. Murphy, Jr. (Ret.), former Chief Judge of the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. Mr. Esworthy is an active member of numerous bar associations and non-profits, including the American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section; Baltimore based non-profits Civic Works, Inc. and The Clarence H. “Du” Burns Memorial Fund, Inc.; and Penn State University.
