A native Texan, Ambika graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English and Comparative Literature from the University of Texas at Austin. She went on to earn her juris doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2013. While in Oklahoma, Ambika worked as a prosecutor in the Juvenile Division of the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office for 5 years.. As a Juvenile Assistant District Attorney, she worked with families who were going through a multitude of situations within the court system: child charged criminally, DHS/CPS custody, legal guardianships, inpatient treatment. She was also the prosecutor for the Oklahoma County Family Drug Court program and through this role has received extensive training on how substance abuse can affect children and families. Additionally, she received numerous trainings pertaining to children, including how to forensically interview children.. Ambika has served as lead counsel on numerous trials throughout her time as an attorney. She has continued on some of those cases as they went through the appellate process..
